by Ok, I've had enough now.
I am finding it impossible to use vent at the moment, I am constently getting Mega Pings and I frequently get disconnected.
Now I don't know whether it's something to do with my internet or what, but until something gets done I just cant use vent.
I'll try and phone up my ISP later today, and I've posted on the vent support forums about its as well. So until then I'm gonna be talking in text. Just like the 'ol days.
Can't Use Vent.

Seems a few are having this problem, try installing the new vent, here:-

Well yeah, its happening again. I can play the game's fine (Well I can play MxO to an extent anway) but once again its become impossible for me to use vent.
So for now, i'm not going to bother with vent, being 15seconds behind all the time is no fun. I'll be on Xfire and Faction chat, just not vent.
I'll give Virgin Media a call (again) but i'm not sure that a whole lot can be done.

Yeah I have no idea whats happened, but my internet is running at dial-up speeds leaving me (yet again) unable to use vent and other such video games. I'm gonna give Virgin a call tommrow, as I'm very tired from being out all day and I'll see what can be done, but for the mean time you'll just see me on the forums.

Internet Service Providers = Totally Lame
Mkay so I did phone them up becuase its way anoying with slow internet and it turns out that becuase I've hit this '5GB' download limit (orange box, thanks Rae
) my internet is 'Throttled' during peak times (so I basically get dial-up speeds) for a week. So I can still download and use the internet without it costing extra money it just means that until sunday I get dial-up speeds during peak times.

over the course of a month you may have to download 5gb for the patches/updates patch fixes + anything else you download like youtube vids etc

There was a 3gb patch waiting for me when I first started up AoC last Monday after a month or so of absence.So 5 gigs is definetly a possibility if you are away from the game for an extended time.

Yes, but he never actually said over a month, unless I am wrong... Even then I think it will be rare it will get that big, except in major patches that come only every few months.

Change ISP to one that does not have a quota of weekly download data.I mean that is totally lame as a policy, its about their convinience not yours,they should upgrade their servers to take the load and not restrict or "throttle" their users.Will they charge you for dial-up speeds for this week or make any kind of discount for the reduced speed,I think not.Dump them for an ISP that doesn't pull these tricks.
Although most ISP's will "shave" your bandwith on rush hours,maybe up to a couple Mbps depending on your speed but never to the extent that they literally send you back to Internet stone age.
