Wrestlemania is finally on the way, with the completion of the Elimanation Chamber PPV, we are now heading to Wrestlemania. Elimination Chamber went too easy last night, as we discovered our two main events for the PvP. There is still a hell of a lot to discover, what about Triple H? Who will Undertaker face? Will Sting join the WWE, is Shawn Michaels going to be involved, and what about the Great One, The Rock?

All of this will be relayed to you day by day, as we discover and marvel at the greatness of Wrestlemania!

The Undertaker vs Triple H

WWE Champion The Miz vs John Cena

World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs Alberto Del Rio

Randy Orton vs CM Punk

Jerry Lawler vs Michael Cole (with Jack Swagger)

*Will be Updated Daily*

On a serious note, if you wish to get educated about the origins of real free style wrestling (not the drama queens of WWF):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pankration

You should honestly read through above article as it is concise, in depth, and even explains various moves and techniques.

Monday Night RAW

Intermittant Reign

FRESNO, Calif. - One night after the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, aftershocks continued to reverberate throughout northern California. This time, the WWE Universe was shaken by the return of two legendary Superstars and the betrayal of a third.

John Cena addressed the WWE Universe

John Cena was riding high. The Cenation Commander-in-Chief had prevailed in the Elimination Chamber the night before to become the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. He shared the news, and his excitement, with the WWE Universe before addressing disparaging comments made about him by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson one week earlier. Cena went old school, dusting off his doctorate in Thuganomics to diss The Great One in no uncertain terms.

CM Punk def. John Morrison

With both Superstars battered by their experience inside Satan’s Structure the night before, CM Punk faced off against John Morrison. Although The Shaman of Sexy appeared determined to carry on, an injury to his knee suffered the night before prevented him. The shrewd Second City Savior capitalized and pinned his opponent after hitting him with a GTS.

Punk then took the mic and warned rival Randy Orton to keep his distance. Rather than follow Punk’s advice, The Viper instead attacked the holier-than-thou Superstar.

Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio ended in a No Contest

Twenty four hours after Alberto Del Rio defeated him in a non-title match at WWE Elimination Chamber, Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston couldn’t wait for retaliation. Before the bell even rang, The Dreadlocked Dynamo pummeled the Mexican elitist. As Kofi rained down blows, Del Rio’s personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, punched him from behind. The distraction allowed Del Rio the upper hand until referees could step in and halt the ruthless assault.

The Bella Twins def. Divas Champion Eve & Gail Kim

After initiating a hair-pulling, nail-gouging, locker room brawl last week, Brie & Nikki Bella drew their targets into more familiar territory. The twins met Divas Champion Eve & Gail Kim inside the squared circle. Unfortunately for Eve and Gail, the Bellas employed underhanded tactics once again when they utilized Twin Magic to notch a victory.

Triple H confronted The Undertaker

After several long weeks, the WWE Universe finally discovered the meaning behind the cryptic “2.21.11” signs. Both The Undertaker and Triple H emerged from months of recuperation to stun everyone. The two goliath Superstars said not a word when they stood toe-to-toe in the center of the ring. Instead, they each acknowledged the WrestleMania sign hanging in the arena and strongly indicated a tacit agreement to face off on The Grandest Stage of Them All on April 3 in Atlanta. Let the battle begin!

Mark Henry def. King Sheamus

After his match with Mark Henry, King Sheamus’ pale complexion quickly burned to a shade of dark red. The Celtic Warrior’s losing streak continued when The World’s Strongest Man punished him with a series of heavy blows before pinning him to the canvas. Has the Irishman’s luck finally run out?

Later, in the locker room, the irate Irishman took his anger out on U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan, who had the misfortune to be in Sheamus' path after his loss.

Jerry “The King” Lawler confronted Michael Cole

After his loss the night before to WWE Champion The Miz, Jerry “The King” Lawler was in no mood for Michael Cole’s condescending remarks. During an interview, the Miz sycophant insulted Lawler, prompting the WWE Hall of Famer to challenge Cole to a match at WrestleMania. Rather than accept, the weasely wisecracker darted into the crowd to get away.

WWE Champion The Miz & John Cena def. WWE Tag Team Champions Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater

Monday Night Raw has witnessed its share of odd couples. Not least of which, the Superstars who will battle at WrestleMania for the WWE Title: The Miz & John Cena.

The duo was paired by the anonymous Raw GM to face WWE Tag Team Champions The Corre, specifically Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater. Despite their animosity for each other, The WWE Champion & The Cenation Commander-in-Chief actually proved victorious and captured the championships - however briefly.

Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater def. WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Cena

In the quickest WWE Tag Team Championship reign in history, the odd pairing of The Miz & John Cena dropped their short-lived titles when the WWE Champion stabbed his partner squarely in the back.

The end of Miz & Cena’s brief reign began when, immediately following their title win, Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater invoked their rematch clause. With their colleagues in The Corre looking on, Gabriel & Slater put forth a respectable effort in order to win back the titles. Just when it appeared the result would be the same, however, The Cleveland Screamer betrayed The Cenation Commander-in-Chief. He leveled his partner and WrestleMania opponent with a Skull Crushing Finale as the referee was distracted, costing the pair the WWE Tag Team Titles.

I have never, from what I recall, trolled your wrestling threads of the past. I always have respect for other peoples threads, whatever the theme. I always made my criticism on vent and in jest. I just found your opening remark as a little too provocative, and being who I am (a fault in my psyche) I could not resist/help myself but to respond with at least a passing comment. What a Face

Just to let you know, when I was a young boy growing up in Montreal, wrestling was my favourite sport and I didn't miss any matches on weekly events and weekend specials, and even persuaded my father (he was into it too at the time), on many occasions, to take me there to watch my favourite fighters live and in the flesh. I knew even then, at the age of 10-12, that it was mostly a show and wrestlers pulled their punches and stuff, but I did not care as I enjoyed the whole style of that time, which is ALOT different from what they have turned it into, I will explain how:

I do not criticize it for its fakeness, I criticize it for the way its athletic supporters have taken it, with the wrestlers waltzing around like fashion queens, insessantly shit talking one another, to build up fan frenzy as the fight itself usually falls short of fan expectations.

I prefered the old school style that I grew up with, where the "bad" guys usually wore masks (few exceptions), and we never knew their real identities unless, theatrically ofc, and quite rarely, a mask was "removed" by force after a prolonged fight, usually a final.

Another interesting and crowd stiring trend was that the "good" guys usually got stomped in the begining of an important fight, before the usual latent comeback, by underhanded tactics that conveniently slipped by the referee's radar, like hidden brass knuckles tucked away in protective pads, that the "villain" showcased with sniggering glee towards the fans just before using them while the referee was looking away or otherwise enganged. Now these theatrics would drive us crazy and made us go into an adrenalin full frenzy while witnessing the "unfairness" at hand. We would roar with displeasure as we saw our "hero", repeatedly battered until bloody (fake ofc), and the referee acting like a thick dunce, not knowing what was going on while the whole stadium was roaring at the top of their lungs of what they had witnessed, eventually followed by the levity of instant gratification that would sweep across all present as the "hero" finally just pushed aside the "ignoramus" referee and went to town on the "bad" guys ass.

It was an instant high, like a drug of some sort, a very strong one at that too...good times that I fondly and vividly remember.

When we came back to Greece I missed all that circus, as it was not very popular in Greece at the time, and until Greek TV started showing WWF and WWE events the sport(or show) had turned into this new style type which I do not care for.

I understand TH that you have grown up with this new type, and can't know better than to inevitably like the way it is, I can also attest that I have noticed that the moves are more elaborate and better executed, maybe even more realistic than old school, but the feeling/emotion emanated towards fans is lacking imo.

Knowing you Hidden, if you could follow a few consequtive old school matches, you might understand where I am coming from. Sorry for the old man's rant, but old timers unfortunately cannot shake old habits, so we might be reluctant to the changes that the new generation brings along. Wink

I would love to get more involved with the new "kids on the block", hell I might just get into the groove again, but unfortunately I can't afford to have satellite channels, and Greek TV has long since stopped showing as Greek audiences found the whole thing as too over the top and ridiculous (tight asses).

This will be the last I say, because although I am not pissed off I really intended to keep this thread to WM only but lets discuss.

My comments were not really directed at anyone, and if they are, I would say. Rider I am a very basic when it comes to names, if I mean you, I'll say your name :p

I have no problem with old school wrestling either. Wrestling has advanced quite alot, and pyschology and I really recommend you watch some of the modern greats. In fact I shall find one match for you that shows that story and pyschology is far from dead.

It's a bit long, but I heavily recommend you watch this before critisizing this, you will enjoy it I guarentee. This is from two men towards the end of their career, but masters of their craft:-

Monday Night Raw

BUFFALO, N.Y. - As the WWE Universe looked on, an entire galaxy of Superstars appeared inside the HSBC Arena. While several triumphed in their insults and in-ring endeavors, others crashed as if flying over nearby Niagara Falls in a barrel.

Triple H addressed the WWE Universe; Sheamus confronted The Game

After months away from Raw recuperating from an injury suffered at the hands of Sheamus, Triple H has returned with renewed determination. The Cerebral Assassin explained to the WWE Universe that, although he has accomplished an enormous amount in WWE, he has yet to enjoy an unadulterated WrestleMania moment, one not overshadowed by other Superstars. Were he to defeat The Undertaker and put an end to The Deadman’s undefeated streak at The Show of Shows, then, and only then, could he experience such a moment.

After The King of Kings’ speech, the man who hobbled him months earlier paid a visit. King Sheamus interrupted and swaggered up to Triple H. It was unclear precisely what the Irishman expected, but what he received instead was a long overdue Pedigree through an announce table. Time to “pay” The Game, indeed.

Evan Bourne def. King Sheamus

King Sheamus continued the tumble off his throne. His latest unceremonious defeat came compliments of Evan Bourne, who reemerged on Raw for the first time in months. The high-flyer prevailed in the wake of a Triple H Pedrigree delivered to Sheamus just prior to his bout with Bourne.

Michael Cole agreed to a WrestleMania match against Jerry “The King” Lawler

After scurrying away last week in the face of a challenge by his fellow announcer Jerry “The King” Lawler, Michael Cole returned to Raw with a change of heart. After inviting Lawler into the ring, Cole agreed to face him in a match at WrestleMania – under two conditions. First, the bigheaded broadcaster would get to name a special guest referee. Second, during the bout he would get to have in his corner the Superstar who will train him, Jack Swagger!

Once Lawler agreed to the conditions, Swagger approached the ring and he and Cole attacked the WWE Hall of Famer with “The All-American American” snapping on an ankle lock.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin to return to Raw next week

The Texas Rattlesnake returns! The host of WWE’s Tough Enough program, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, will make his way back to Raw next Monday night. There’s no telling what might happen, so don’t miss any of the action!

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk WrestleMania match announced; The Viper def. Michael McGillicutty

The Raw General Manager has proven he or she is as astute as they are anonymous. Sensing that tensions between Randy Orton and CM Punk have risen to uncontrollable heights, the GM declared that the two will settle their substantial differences on a stage equally as grand, WrestleMania XXVII.

During the announcement, the GM also revealed that Orton must face every one of Punk’s New Nexus disciples in singles matches over the next few weeks. If The Viper defeats that member, they are banned from WrestleMania. However, should any member defeat Orton, that member is permitted to be in Punk’s corner at The Show of Shows. Not only that, if any New Nexus member interferes, the group will be disbanded.

So far, Orton 1 – New Nexus 0. WWE’s Apex Predator battled Michael McGillicutty and managed to defeat the fellow third-generation Superstar. Dealing a further blow to The Second City Savior, Orton punted McGillicutty in the head after Punk pleaded that he show restraint.

Brie Bella won a No. 1 Contender’s Diva Battle Royal

Do you believe in magic? If you’re Brie Bella, you have every reason to. The beautiful and cunning Diva emerged victorious against Natalya, Gail Kim, Tamina, Maryse, Alicia Fox, Melina and her sister Nikki. As Divas Champion Eve looked on, The Bella Twins hoodwinked the referee and performed Twin Magic to lock up the win for Brie.

Shawn Michaels discussed Triple H vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania

Shawn Michaels, the man who founded D-Generation X with Triple H and faced The Undertaker in classic showdowns the past two WrestleManias, offered his thoughts on the powerhouse clash. HBK told the WWE Universe that he has mixed emotions, but he's rooting for his friend Triple H to emerge victorious.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson rebutted John Cena’s comments from last week

After suffering a barrage of verbal grenades from John Cena the week prior, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson returned fire. The host of WrestleMania mocked the Dr. of Thuganomic’s rapping skills. He then went on to tell the WWE Universe that Cena unjustly called him a liar, that he “loves the WWE” and that he will soon confront Cena face-to-face.

U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan vs. William Regal ended in a No Contest

The scheduled match between United States Daniel Bryan and William Regal was over before it even began. As the U.S. Champion approached the ring, WWE Champion The Miz ambushed him. As a result, Bryan’s match with Regal was proclaimed a no contest. The Cleveland Screamer described his motivation for the attack by simply saying that Raw is his show.

John Cena def. Alex Riley in a Steel Cage Match

Rarely has social media been so unsociable. During a Steel Cage Match between John Cena and Alex Riley, WWE Champion The Miz used his cell phone to tweet out a photo of his WrestleMania opponent with his face pressed against the unforgiving steel grid. He then tossed the phone to Riley, who used it to clock his opponent in the face.
