I do it one of two ways.
Way the First:
1. Find an MMO that looks like it might actually be remotely innovative.
2. Play for a while.
3. Submit suggestions to the devs, which will be ignored in favor of adding awesome item 4.0, or including amazing dungeon from hell.
4. Stick with it in the vain hope that it might improve.
5. Eventually, give up and find something that might be remotely innovative.
The other way:
1. My friends start playing WoW all day again.
2. Sigh.
3. Get latest expansion.
4. Play for a few months til they get bored.
5. Pull the "I told you so" card when they inevitably call the game a giant turd.
I believe that covers the my usual circumstances.
