    Attributes Explained


    It is true you can learn every Ability in the Matrix Online. Now how well you can use those Abilities in combat against a player is another story.

    Your proficiency in a certain Ability tree depends on quite a few factors. Attributes help to define what Abilities you will be proficient at.
    There are 5 Attributes: Belief, Perception, Reason, Focus, and Vitality.

    Each Attribute will have a different bonus to either your Accuracy, Damage, Resistance, Defense, Health, Inner Strength, duration of negative states, and more.

    There are for main styles of ACC, DMG, Resistance, and Defense: Melee is for Martial Arts, Ballistics is for Gunmen, Thrown is for Spies, Viral is for Hackers, and Heal is for Patchers. To find out which bonuses you can get from the various Attributes look at the Attributes Overview table below.

    Belief:
    Represents a character's confidence in themselves. Activities that require absolute conviction, such as hyper-jump and combat toughness, benefit from a high belief.

    Melee Accuracy:
    Affects your tactic points when attempting to hit an opponent while using a Melee Style (Both in and out of Interlock).
    Melee Resistance:
    Affects the amount of damage you take when hit by an opponent using a Melee Style.
    Viral Damage:
    Affects how much damage you cause when hitting using a Viral Ability. (Both in and out of Interlock).
    Viral Defense:
    Affects how easy it is for an opponent to hit you using a Viral Ability.
    Movement Speed:
    Affects your base movement rate.
    Buff Area Radius:
    Affects the area your buff Abilities cover.
    Debuff Area Radius:
    Affects the area your debuff Abilities cover.
    Blind Duration:
    Affects the amount of time your Blind effects last on an opponent.
    Pacify Duration:
    Affects the amount of time your Pacify effects last on an opponent.


    Perception:
    The character's ability to notice subtle changes in their surroundings. Activities that require a careful study of an opponent, such as martial arts, benefit from a high Perception.

    Thrown Accuracy:
    Affects your tactic points when using a Knife or Sneak Attack. (Both in and out of Interlock).
    Thrown Resistance:
    Affects the amount of damage you take when successfully hit with a Knife or Sneak Attack.
    Ballistic Damage:
    Affects the amount of damage you cause when you successfully hit an opponent with a ranged weapon (Both in and out of Interlock).
    Ballistic Defense:
    Affects how easy it is for an opponent to hit you using a ranged weapon (Both in and out of Interlock).
    Sneak Movement Speed:
    Affects how quickly you move when using a Sneak Ability.
    Invisible Movement Speed:
    Affects how quickly you move when using an Invisibility Ability.
    Sweeps:
    Affects how quickly you remove the stun / staggered / dazed etc. states

    Reason:

    This represents a character's problem solving capability. A character with a high Reason is able to more easily hack the base equations of the Matrix, and abilities such as Attack Programming and Execute Program benefit from this.

    Viral Accuracy:
    Affects the amount of damage you take when hit by a Viral Ability. (Both in and out of Interlock).
    Viral Resistance:
    Affects the amount of damage you take when hit by an opponent using Viral Abilities.
    Thrown Damage:
    Affects how much damage you cause when hitting using a Knife or Sneak Attack. (Both in and out of Interlock).
    Thrown Defense:
    Affects how easy it is for an opponent to hit you using a Knife or Sneak Attack.
    Inner Strength Cost Modifier:
    Affects the potency of Abilities that reduce the Inner Strength cost of using Abilities.
    Powerlessness Duration:
    Affects the amount of time your Powerlessness effects last on an opponent.
    Confuse Duration:
    Affects the amount of time your Confuse effects last on an opponent.

    Focus:
    This is the the character's ability to concentrate and manage their performance. A high focus allows you to maintain concentration under duress, or shrug off damage. Activities that require physical or mental resistance, and precise body control benefit from a high focus.

    Ballistic Accuracy:
    Affects your tactic points when attempting to fire a weapon at an opponent. (Both in and out of Interlock).
    Ballistic Resistance:
    Affects the amount of damage you take when hit by an opponent using a Ballistic attacks.
    Melee Damage:
    Affects how much damage you cause when hitting using a Melee style (Both in and out of Interlock).
    Melee Defense:
    Affects how easy it is for an opponent to hit you using a Melee Style.
    Force Combat:
    Affects how quickly you take down an opponent's Evade Shield.
    Heal Damage:
    Affects the potency of healing Abilities.
    Root Duration:
    Affects the amount of time your Root effects last on an opponent.
    Stun Duration:
    Affects the amount of time your Stun effects last on an opponent.


    Vitality:
    This measures a character's overall physical well being. Health Points, which represent a character's ability to absorb damage, benefit from a high Vitality.

    Maximum Inner Strength:
    Affects how many total Inner Strength points you can have.
    Maximum Health:
    Affects how many total Health points you can have.
    Health Regeneration Rate:
    Affects how quickly you regenerate Health.
    Health Sitting Regeneration Rate:
    Affects how quickly you regain Health while sitting.
    Determination:
    Affects the duration of negative status effects on your character.
    Inner Strength Regeneration Rate:
    Affects how quickly you regain Inner Strength.
    Inner Strength Sitting Regeneration Rate:
    Affects how quickly you regain Inner Strength while sitting.
    Inner Strength Standing Regeneration Rate:
    Affects how quickly you regain Inner Strength while standing.
    Contested Withdraw:
    Affects your Defense score when attempting to Withdraw from combat.
    Initiative:
    Affects the Accuracy of all Interlock Abilities.
