Guild Charter
The Dragoon Brotherhood is a proven, well established online gaming community. Many guilds rise and fall through online gaming, but for countless years, the Dragoons have withstood that. What makes us strong is our sense of one, our devotion for internal excellence. Our aim is to excell, and be the best that we can be in whatever gaming world we step into. As with any successful guild, member participation is key. Here are some of our core guild goals, rules, policies etc... that prospective members should know before joining:-
Mission Statements
Overall Guild Mission Statement
The Dragoon Brotherhood is an virtual online gaming community. We do not exist for any one specific game. We are a community of all ages, all sexes, all races members from all over the world. We aim to make The Dragoon Brotherhood is always successful and our aim is to be the best in everything we touch. We are dedicated to a friendly, team focused, fun-loving gaming environment where every member is important and not just a number of a roster. We seek to foster long term friendships among members and enhance the online gaming experience by virtue of those friendships.
Standards Of Conduct
Core Rules
The Dragoon Brotherhood only accepts members into its ranks that are of similar personalities, goals and values to its own. All of our members support and follow our core guild rules and anyone who cannot, is removed. Our core rules and values have served us well since 2006 and continue to be the guiding principles behind moving the guild forward. Our core rules include, but are not limited to:-
1. Follow the Command Structure
All leaders, and commanding members of the Dragoons are in that position because they have proven that they are capable and strong enough to lead. The Guild Master is the final say on every matter and regardless of what you may think of the situation if he decides something will be done, then that will be done. NEVER think you can solve the issue, or take your own initiative in a situation. The Guild Master takes great care and responsibility in his role and makes sure that all situations are resolved as fairly and as best as they can be.
2. Guild First
We expect that all members put the guild first in all situations. The Dragoons always comes first no matter what the situation. The Guild takes no consideration when it involves outsiders, and will not negotiate to threats of leaving or members choosing their own course of action.
3. We recruit the PERSON, not the CHARACTER
We look for people not the character to match our guild in all circumstances. As such Dragoons are not permitted to be in another guild in any game we have touched or playing. Membership in another guild in another game in only allowed exceptional cases, and as such the majority of members will be declined of this.
4. Keep all Guild Business, and private business to yourself
It is not permitted to relay information to any outsider at anytime. The Dragoon Brotherhood is a fiercely private guild. We do not share any information with outsiders accept through leadership's official releases. Therefore no member is permitted to reveal any information, no matter how trivial and minor it seems.
5. Participate in Guild Events
Events occur all the time in the Dragoons. You are expected to participate in as many as possible throughout your time here. We understand real life commitments and this is viewed as fine. But if you are online and we have a guild event of some sort you need to be there, especially if it's the game you are playing or can play.
6. We are a Brotherhood
Backing up your guild mates is expected as the favour is always returned. Sometimes personal sacrifice is required in team situation or PvP/PvE moments. We never view this as a personal sacrifice as games come and go, the Guild views friendships and brotherhood our main traits, the game is but a playground to exercise and celebrate that connection.
7. Ventrilo is required at all times
Members who never use vent never connect with the group and become dead faces. Therefore it is expected that if you are playing on a game with Dragoon presence that you use ventrilo at all times. Mics are not always required as we do ask that as long as you can hear us that is fine. However, leadership roles are expected to have fully working mics to carry out commands and be a quick voice in situations.
8. Be considerate
Manners never cost anything to use. When you are ingame do not login and say nothing, take note of those around you are be considerate. Say if you are going offline or afk, and communicate with the other members of the Dragoons making an effort to make the brotherhood ties even stronger. There is nothing worse than members logging in, ignoring the ventrilo rules, and all tells and communicated words, manners cost nothing. These members are soon removed if this ill-mannered and selfish attitude is maintained.
Standards Of Conduct
These standards go hand in hand with our core guild rules but they bear repeating so all future members understand what we expect from members. Those standards of conduct include, but are not limited to:-
1. Members are not permitted to report another member to CSRs.
2. There are no rules on killing outsiders, make no fuss if another member kills an outsider in cold blood.
3. Upholding of all guild values and rules is required of all members. There are no exceptions whether you are a member for 10 days or 10 years. All members must maintain the values of the guild.
4. Self focused, loot focused, disrespecting shits will not be tolerated.
5. Make friends in the guild. At our core we are a brotherhood. So make friends. Those friendships make us strong.
6. Any issues with guild policies are brought directly to the Guild Master. Publically bashing or complaining about them is not tolerated. This goes for ranks also.
7. Jokes can be rampant, but if a member asks that something not be said, please take care in considering them. The joke stops when it hurts.
8. Backstabbing, looting, stealing from, scamming or otherwise harming other members is not permitted. It all goes back to our core value that we are a brotherhood.
9. Profanity can be a common place, and although we mean it in a non-hostile way, please be prepared to accept it. Swearing is not accepted when it is done in a hostile and un-joking intention.
10. If a guild officer tells you to do something, do it immediately. Do not argue or complain to them and definitely do not get nasty with them or removal will occur.
