every 3 lvls, you get 1 skill point (for new skills), 1 stat point(for new stats) and 2 upgrade points(to upgrade your skills).

lvl 6 -> Skill Point
lvl 7 -> Stat Point
lvl 8 -> 2 Upgrade Points
lvl 9 -> Skill Point
lvl 10 -> Stat Point
etcetera

The tutorial gets you to level 5-6 and at this point you chose your travel power. you don't get any power selections from level 1 to level 5 you live with your energy builder and 1 other attack.
